From today’s media supplements etc
- It’s not just trashy new weblog Sploid trying to ape British tabloids on the US side of the pond - now the National Enquirer is doing a copycat job, too. According to a story in today’s Independent (which will inexplicably move to a not-as-good redesign tomorrow after recently turning tabloid), former UK tab supremo Paul Field has turfed 23 homegrown staff out of the Enquirer and replaced them with an army of at least 20 Brits.
- Again to today’s Indy for one of the best intros I’ve ever wished I’d written. In a story on Sesame Street’s move to feed kids anti-obesity messages, Andrew Buncombe starts off: “This message is brought to you by the letters F, A and T and by the numbers one in three”. Inspired!
- Radio DJs like Gambaccini and Blackburn are starting to publish podcasts, says MediaGuardian.
