Sick or snappy? Scoopt filters citizen photojournalism to news media
Amid the hubub and concern over the likely taste-and-decency code exhibited by citizen-photojournalist commuters in the minutes following the London bombings, a new picture agency has launched aiming to sell photos captured exlclusively by amateurs.

Even with Scoopt keeping 50% of the cut taken from selling to news publishers, it looks like a good deal for the new army of mobile consumers who only have a camera on their phone because technological advances and falling costs have put it there. There are no photos available on the Scoopt site so far, however (they’re available to registered media clients only, apparently), so gagueing the success or tone of the operation is difficult.
