As part of its Creative Archive project (”Rip It. Mix It. Share It”), the BBC has launched the Open News Archive, a collection of news clips covering 50 years that has been made available for people to download and re-use in their own projects.
Already, teachers and local history groups have begun showing interest in re-using the footage.
